We often talk about our favourite film, but I don't really see many discussions about the people that actually make those films amazing. So, who would you say is your favourite director?

I don't really think I can go past Quentin Tarantino or Peter Jackson (for Lord of the Rings ), but there are loads of amazing directors around!

Probably Ang Lee. Crouching Tiger... and Brokeback Mountain were both excellent.

(In no particular order)

Guillermo del Toro
Denis Villeneuve
Quentin Tarantino
Christopher Nolan
Nicolas Winding Rein
Alejandro G. Iñárritu
Wes Anderson
David Fincher

Fairly clichéd choices, but I don't really care. There's a lot of directors who consistently produce films I like, but to me they are the ones that feel like they leave the biggest impression on their films that couldn't have been accomplished by somebody else's vision.
