On the june 2003 paper… on question 3)b)i) why is the order of NO second order??!!! Does it have anything to do with the H2??!!im confused please helppp :confused:

you take each one in turn
when you tripple the concn of H2 and leave the concn of NO unchanged and the rate tripples you know that the rate of reaction with respect to h2 is 1

also when you tripple the concn of NO leaving the concn of H2 unchanged and the rate goes up bu 9times, you know that the rate of reaction with respect to NO is 2

yes i see what u mean BUT when u tripple the conc of NO shouldnt it x3 in the rate as well?? going from 0.06 to 0.18?! instead of 0.02 to 0.18??!!
however, if we were to say it goes from 0.02 to 0.18 i do agree that its x9 but where does the 2 come from?!!im sorry if im confusing u but im having trouble understanding this :confused:
