I've applied for accountancy at Nottingham (no offer yet) and Nottingham Trent (conditional) - but I sort of wish I'd applied for maths - I've really grown to love it, especially at A2. However I reckon I'd probably still go into accountancy regardless of what degree I do. Should I go with what I really enjoy now, or look towards my future prospects? (Plus an accountancy degree gains you exemptions from accountancy qualifications).

A lot of maths courses aren't keen on gap years with no maths study, which means you'd be limiting your options a bit- you could ask the unis you've already applied for if they'd consider you for maths instead, but at this stage, their maths courses might not have any spaces.

Would you be willing to apply to other unis via Extra or clearing in order to get onto a maths degree?

Alternatively, you could start an accountancy course, and see whether you enjoy it once you start studying it. If you find you're really not enjoying it, you could then reapply for maths as spending a year studying accountancy is less likely to worry unis than spending a year doing no maths at all.

Isn't it accountancy is somehow math related? I mean dealing with numbers.
