I'm applying for a PGCE course commencing September 2016. I am an EU citizen and I've been studying in UK for 4 years. Last year I was on an international exchange in Hong Kong where I lived for 9 months. Can you confirm that I am eligible for tuition fees loan since the reason why I lived outside EEA is a student exchange, and therefore I've been ordinarily resident in EEA for 3 years?

Living abroad for a temporary period like this wont affect your residence status. The exchange was short term and for a fixed period - did you have a visa for HK that stated it was only valid for the period of your exchange? And documentation from your university explaining the period of the exchange? That should be plenty of evidence to prove you were only abroad temporarily

    Hi dave853

As this was a temporary break in residency you should be able to apply as normal. We may ask for evidence to confirm this.

    Thanks
