I'd like to ask opinion and if you could qualify your opinions that would be great.
I'm 26 and in a career lull, for lack of being able to decide what to do i'm stuck working a menial job becasue I don't know where to put my next step and my focus.
I have an obsession, perhaps, with the world of medicine, I love listening to audiobooks, reading textbooks and watching shows on anything medical or body related for better living.
I am quite self involved though and have health anxiety so I don't know if it would be a good idea or not to pursue medicine becasue I don't think I'm a caring person but I do like the information and advising side. I really like evidence and being able to say for sure why something works.
I do have a degree, but it's in engineering and every time I think about going into it I have a vision of just being sat somewhere not really caring about any engineering projects.
So I would have to retrain to do medicine but I think part of anxiety is that it's hard to make decisions that you don't ruminate over after.

Sounds like you'd be more suited to medical physiology. However if you did choose to do medicine, I recommend going into renal medicine to avoid anxiety. The only thing that will ever come out of your mouth is 'not a candidate for dialysis'.
