Heslington East or West?? Uni of York

I will be studying Film and Television Production in October at the University of York and I am confused about which college to choose. I am a fun, lively person who enjoys socialising and partying and so I feel that Heslington East will be too quiet and boring for me. I want a college that's outgoing and lively so would I be better staying in Heslington West? Also could you recommend any colleges that would suit me as a person? Thanks.

The colleges don't really vary that much - some have higher quality accommodation (such as Constantine), with higher prices, while some have lower quality, but they'll all have the same basic services. Definitely do some research, but I recommend prioritising colleges that are on the same campus as your course. The bus between the campuses is short and free, but it'll be a lot more convenient to live on the same campus.

Do bear in mind that you have nine (I think) choices when you apply for accommodation. For example, I'm going to be studying law, so I'm prioritising the accommodation on Hes East, but I'm also applying to several colleges on Hes West for my choices later down the preference list. So I recommend prioritising one close to your course, but you might have to apply to ones on the other side anyway.

Regarding liveliness - there are several departments and three, full colleges on Hes East so really don't worry about it being quiet and boring; there will be lots of socialising, plus both campuses are close to the city and close to each other.
