I'm a private A level candidate so I don't have any "predicted" grades from teachers. And in talking to university admissions tutors for maths departments they all told me they pretty much ignore the ones provided by schools since, in their words, teachers lie in a students favour too often.

Do you agree with what your teachers have predicted?

Are they over selling you or under selling you in your opinion?

Do you think your teachers have fudged things to help your university applications?

Do any of you think some teachers "have it in for you" and have sabotaged your application by saying you'll do poorly in the exams?

I'm doing AS at the moment but they still give out predictions which are very pessimistic in my opinion. All that matters is what happens on the day.

So you think they go the opposite way. The university people I talked to all said they thought teachers are overly optimistic.
