Ulcers! ahhhh

Over the last week I've had a sore throat and a cold...but now its kinda developed into to huge mouth ulcer just above my left tonsil..almost the size of a smartie! now over the past two days i have 2 other smaller ones on my tongue and lower gum! It's making it really hard to eat or drink anything as its just far too painfull. it feels now that more are under my tongue, and is painful to talk.
If anyone has any suggestions for medical stuff that mite work (considering bonjella's done nothing) as have chemistry practical on friday! ahhh!
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Lou
People keep telling me salt water works.

Go and see a doctor. I used to get loads of ulcers and after they did a few blood tests, it turns out I'd had a pretty nasty virus and my immune system had taken a bit of a kicking. If it's anything like that then they can perscribe you with something pretty effective.
i feel for you- i had exactly the same thing before my gcse's.. what worked for me was to just de-stress for a day - as thats wat causes it in the first place and drink lots of water... eat salty foods to help your throat, things like that. good luck

oh do I feel for you...I get them when I am stressed. There is not much medicine can do for them other then let them run there course. I have found that gargling salt water helps when they are at the back of your mouth...and avoiding sugary things as well.

tried all of that but still nothing happens?!.. anyway my bf went to the chemist 4 me today and they gave him the strongest thing they can give over the counter kinda thing. It's called Adcortyl in Orabase. tried it for the first time this afternoon. put it on thinking it would sting like mad but instead it forms a sort of barrier around it which actually sticks to the gum- doesn't hurt a bit, and i haven't had any pain from them since. i would reccomend it for anyone who has this problem. only one downside as the texture feels a bit like errmm sandwich paste type stuff and sticks to where you put it!

It's been a great help while trying to revise..chemistry practical first thing, woo!
Thanks for everyones help n support

I've had one at the back of my mouth for ages, it's hardly visible though and causes no pain so I've just left it, now I've got one one the side of my mouth, can't even see it but my left face is swollen
My mum ALWAYS has ulcers. If they're really bad she'll gargle whisky - apparently it kills them for a while.
