I am on the new spec for 2015/6 and some of my courses are linear and some are the old standard does that mean my AS levels count for anything on my UCAS or not because I'm trying to drop geography and I don't know whether it is worth getting the qualification or not.

For linear subjects, your AS exams will not count to your overall A level grade but will stand as a singular qualification. It is likely that if you are taking the AS exams for your linear subjects, these will be the basis of your predicted grades on UCAS. It is likely what you will get in the AS exams will be your predicted grade or may be one grade higher. For old spec A levels, your AS grades will form 50% of your overall A level grade. However, If you choose to drop a subject at AS, then this will be counted as a singular AS qualification. hope this answers your question
