i take my pill on time everyday and im quite cautious to sex (my partner pulls out). tonight i just took my birth control pill and placed it between my teeth, i felt it "crunch" (if you will) and i spat it out on my hand. it looked whole still to me and i took it with water.

ive been having sex frequently and im scared me biting into the pill might reduce its effectiveness in spite my partner not ejaculating in me (tales of precum being able to impregnate women)

    help???

Him not coming inside you is going to greatly reduce the risks: done consistently, it's about as reliable as using condoms.

I'm not sure about the chewed pill - it's ask a pharmacist time - although I suspect it's not going to make a difference.

    Combined pill or progesterone mini-pill?

    Combined pill.

i looked at the pill on my hand and it looked whole - not half or anything. I should still go to a pharmacy just in case i suppose

    Hi there,

I'm a medical school applicant and am currently working in a pharmacy. By reading your post I gather you swallowed the complete pill and didn't even split it in half?
I wouldn't worry about it. If you take your pill regularly and this would have been the first missed dose (which you haven't actually missed) then there is very little chance of becoming pregnant as your body needs time to get back into the cycle to release an egg able to be fertilised. If you are at all worried about this or any other aspect of your sexual health speak to you pharmacist who will be happy to answer your questions, your GP, or visit a sexual health clinic.

    Hope this helps you.
