I will definitely do it and this thread triggered me to do some research. I literally just signed up to be a organ donor too.
That's amazing! Well done for doing something so noble, you're awesome :jumphug:

I did it for the first time at the beginning of this month and I actually felt like I was useful for something for once, it's a great feeling not to mention you get to have a chat with other donors at the end and free biscuits, crisps and juice. It's like primary school all over again. One thing that did surprise me though was the size of the needle, like i'm not squeamish at all but I was like damnnn that's rather big. I got to feel the blood afterwards and it was so hot lol
*shudders* nah man i've had blood tests with that tiny needle and it makes me cry I cant deal with that

It isn't amazing, it is sitting in a funny reclining chair for a few minutes browsing TSR. There is nothing amazing about that.

The prospect of donating blood is in my eyes. No matter how you see it, I think it's very good that you donate blood. Accept the compliment

Ahhhh, they're understandably very strict about that. Are you thinking about doing so in the future though? :yep:

My friend that came with me has anaemia too and so she couldn't donate either — if you find out that your haemoglobin levels are higher in future, you should go for it! It's great that you're on the donor register

I'm not accepting a compliment I am not deserving of. Live organ donors deserve compliments not people who sit in chairs.

Yeah, I'm on the organ donor register already, just need to figure out when as I gather it makes you a bit off for the rest of the day.

Out of curiosity where on your arm do they put the needle? (I want a tattoo on my upper arm, would rather it wasn't getting stabbed).

That's brilliant :yep: — it does make you feel a little bit funny, but not to the degree where you couldn't go back to work (unless you do hard manual labour). On my arm, it was inserted just above my inner elbow. If you don't want to have it on one arm, you can always ask to have it done on your other arm :yep:

You do get a cool card, yes! Well done! Proud of you :excited: I like your note too  I'm sure they'll appreciate it well done! :hugs:
Edit: just Googled it: Mx is used allow one to refrain from disclosing gender. It's also the preferred title for nonbinary people, apparently! Didn't know that.
