Can anyone help withwhat the depreciation rate should be when there is a company with several differenttypes of equipment?

You depreciate each asset separately so could end up with several different rates. There are several different ways to do this but straight-line is the simplest and most common.

For computer equipment I'd usually depreciate it over three years, but the number should be a realistic one for the type of product that you're purchasing. If you're purchasing something that genuinely will last the company 10-20 years, it should depreciate over that sort of span.
