my friend got an unalome tattoo and i wondered what the actual exact meaning is? i research online but it just seems all a bit vague..? i think its to do with buddism

One of the top results on Google.

"This symbol is a representation of reaching enlightenment. The path starts in the center of the spiral, and as you continue down this path you are wandering, becoming more conscious of your surroundings. When you reach the top of the symbol (the straight line), you have reached enlightenment."

"These spires are known as “Unalome” and represent the crown of the Arahants (Enlightened Saints), the spiral stands for the crown at the center of the scalp, and the straight line pointing upwards, representing the straight path to Enlightenment without any wavering behavior, that the Arahants have accomplished."
