    About what level are these mechanics questions? granted im not that great at mechanics but I can barely even understand these never-mind do them :laugh:

    Not at all. I suck at M2 tbh, Pure is the only thing I'm any good at which is a shame since I like applied, I'm just bad at it.

    Just had a quick go and I got t=\frac{V}{g(3 \mu \cos \alpha + \sin \alpha)} but the Rugby's on so I'll have to check it later.

    well if you could only pick one of the three (pure, mechanics, stats) to be good at you'd pick pure every time. So you can do the best one at least, and you do it very well i must say :blushing: :laugh:

    Yes I saw that. I had a sign error though so I get -\sin \alpha now. We only differ by a factor of 2 somewhere - maybe moment-of-inertia problem?

    I have it as 2/3 ma2 for a shell about a diameter
