Computing Services are trialling FreeWire IPTV at the moment. But they may decide to charge for it next year (this has not been decided yet, as far as I know).
Also, you do technically need a TV license. As much as the TV license is a rip-off for students, I'm not one to promote illegal activities

As far as I'm aware, the old windows messenger attempts to do this, whilst the new windows live messenger connects you both to a server to upload/download.
Therefore if you want network speed transfer, the sender must use windows messenger (primary protocol is the senders)
Theres always HyperTerminal with the TCP/IP protocol otherwise!
I've never got my head round using that...I get stuck thinking about the command, decide one day maybe I should learn, oh know it's quicker to just do it the GUI way everyone else does
