I've always been a bit self concious about my look and my healthiness, so I'm going to the gym next week. I'm very skinny and I hardly put any weight on at all, so I need to put on some muscle. I hardly exercise either - until I started running every morning last week.

All I need is some advice for the gym - what should I do for myself, and how should I eat in a diet? I've been avoiding many sugary things like energy drinks, coke and chocolate (which I used to eat all the time) but is there anything else I can do? I've been eating a lot of meat too, and drinking a lot of milk as I know they both contain protein.

-Lift Those weights, and properly (or you'll get injured)
-Know which muscles you want to develop
-Be patient (I.e. start from the bottom and work your way up)
Soon you'll be following the strict regime of an athlete... without competing in anything. After all, it's the looks you're after
