Is going through points on the spec and expanding on them a good way of revising? They wont really ask anything outside of the spec will they?

No they aren't allowed to ask anything outside of the spec, I personally revised this way for AS and it worked

yes!! the spec is really important! many people forget about it but ull see that people who use the spec when revising have slightly better knowledge of the topics and subjects. i use it as a checklist when i revise when I go through the textbook made for the specific spec!
what u could do is when u make notes use the spec to highlight key points and things u definitely need to know, I find that in bio there's a lot of info that u actually don't need but ur too scared to condense it down so u try to do the impossible and learn the whole textbook, buh yh use the spec!! lol
(I havnt started doing proper revision yet hehe)
what exam board are u doing ?
