Im drafting my personal statement and stuck on the first sentence. I already know how I will go about the rest I just need some help putting the first paragraph together. Im applying for a finance course. This is what I had for the first sentence, . I feel like this will grab attention as most of my fellow applicants probably can not say the same. But where do I go next with this?

I've flagged this to be moved to the PS Advice forum, but want to issue a warning here that your first sentence is not going to be usable now that it has appeared on a public website because it will be cached by Google and will be flagged up as plagiarism by Ucas. Don't use anything anyone suggests to you word for word, and don't post any more of your ps on here.

You want something that immediately says why you want to study the subject and why it interests you. Go with simple and to the point rather than using quotes or flowery language.

Actually write the rest and then do the introduction, as that is the easiest way to do it
