Okay, so convert everything into the same units. Let's convert everything into litres and pounds.

UK: 1 litre is 1.24 quid.
US: 3.79 litres is 3.15 dollars

This is the same as saying , you agree?

So let's look at what we have so far:

UK: 1 litre is 1.24 quid
US: 1 litre is 0.831 dollars

How much is 0.831 dollars in pounds? We know that so

Now how much is 0.831 \$ in terms of pounds and what does that let you say about the relative costs?

P.S: Moved to maths.
