I have had to do some english literature coursework the other day but I am finding it really hard to do.

The questions on the coursework were 'how is commitment shown in Romeo and Juliet?' and then we have read three poems in which I have to compare and write how commitment is shown between them and Romeo and Juliet. For example, Porphyrias Lover poem I have to write a mini essay type thing on how commitment is exhibited and similarly shown with Romeo and Juliet. But i don't know how to do it, can anyone give any ideas / hints, thanks.

i had to do a comparison question for my coursework as well just for different books. the way i did it was in two paragraphs for each point:
    1) write a long sentence stating the argument for first point e.g commitment shown to lover??
    2) analyse quotes to do with first text that support this point
    3) new paragraph-- analyse quotes from second text that support the point, each time link it back to first text
    4) repeat this structure 4 or 5 times

    hope this helps
