Firstly, sorry if this is the wrong place - wasn't exactly sure where the right place for it is!
I was just wondering what people's views are on egg donation? (In the UK, not like other places where there is a big financial motivator)
I very recently donated my eggs and all my family and friends were incredibly supportive throughout the process but this weekend I had a visit from my Grandma and my sister brought it up in conversation to her and she was crazy angry at me for doing it! She insisted that I should've consulted her beforehand as she doesn't like the idea of having a grandchild who she'll never know.
I was just wondering what everyone else's views are on it? From a non-biased perspective because I suspect if anyone did have any negative thoughts on it my Gran was probably the only one with enough balls to say it to my face!

I'm all for it. I don't want kids ever so my eggs are sitting around going to waste when I could donate them, get paid for it and plus help someone else have a baby or have the eggs used for research. The only thing stopping me is the hormones you have to take before donating. I can barely deal with the small amount of extra hormones I'm on for the pill, let alone anything else. I can imagine my gran would be a bit iffy about it too. She's old school about everything on this kind of subject from this, to the pill, to abortions etc - she always takes the old fashioned view.

I'd do it. I have a child and I don't want any more so I know I have perfectly healthy eggs going to waste. I love my son so much and I'd love to be able to help other people experience that too. I think it's a great thing to do.
