So I'm living in Scotland and I want to study vet med at Edinburgh University. For me it's free to go to Edinburgh university but can I still get a loan for living fees? Like cost of rent, food, bills etc. how does it work? If I can get a student loan how much is the maximum I can get and what does it depend on whether I get a student loan or not?

Yes you can take out a loan for maintenance costs (accommodation, food etc). The amount you can take out depends on your parents' salary. All the information you need is on this website: http://www.saas.gov.uk
