    Question 17 on ex 3C
    i did it with my method, slightly adjusting it,

    i made PE at teh floor.

    ok.

    PE before = 50xgsin12

    PE after = 1500gsin8

    loss = 50xgsin12 - 1500gsin8

    work done against fric = 20(x+40)
    50xgsin12 - 1500gsin8 = 20(x+40)
    x(50gsin12 - 20) = 800 + 1500gsin8
    x = 34.8m as required
