I have a question that I've started to answer but am struggling with please help !
Choose characters from the play. How does Priestly's presentation of these characters reflect the social historical context of 1912? I have already written about Arthur Birling but need help with Sheila.

It was quite unusual for Sheila Birling to hand back the ring - it goes against the expectation that society had. She breaks away from the traditional middle class snobbery changing her ways towards the end of the play. Almost as if she is an enbodiment of the Inspector and in effect J.B Priestley's views.
