I'm on a gap year re-taking my A-Level's after getting a disappointing CCD. I was a bit surprised to find two university's, although mediocre, changed their offers from conditional to unconditional today after I sent them my GSCE and A-Level certificates.

I thought unconditional offers are usually only given to top-end students the university wants to trap?

Unconditional offers are also given to those who have already got their exam results - like you. The only condition is proving you have what you say you have, which you have done. Therefore you have met the conditions and the offer turns unconditional.

    Nope.

It simply means you have already achieved the academic qualifications needed for their course and you do not need anything else.
