On my bunac work application it asks about my English ability and says it must be completed by an English teacher.

Well how? I am in university now and I haven't done English since GCSE.

If you're from a non-English speaking country, then you need to pass the IELTS test with a score of 6.0 or above (that's a visa requirement rather than something BUNAC sets).

If you're from an English speaking country, you don't have to take that test and it's assumed that you're a native English speaker unless BUNAC staff determine otherwise.

Not sure where the English teacher's evidence would fit into that. They couldn't excuse you from the IELTS test. The basics are here:
    http://www.bunac.org/usa/intern-abro...itain/applying

There's a contact button at the bottom, so you can ask them direct if you want to.
