Aw that's unlucky. I'm sure once he's had a bit of time to cool off he'll realise that it was just unfortunate and that the blame lies with the person who took the money rather than you. Is he going to be able to get the money back at any point do you think?
Try to let him know that you do care about the money going missing and you are really upset about it. From what you said, he seems to be under the impression that you don't care. I know that's not the case, but sometimes when people remain calm and composed after something bad has happened it can seem like they just don't care as much.

Well if he was with you then I would just reassure him that it wasn't you who wiped out the £400, but I would find out who did take thet £400 out.

He didn't say I was the one who took it. He said it all happened cause of my bad shopping habit.

Why on earth did he give you his credit card, you just don't do that.

:ditto: My bf would never be stupid enough to lend me his credit card, ESPECIALLY as he knows how much I love shopping!

That's absolutely exact. I am like this all the time. And that's what he said to me, it seems that i don't care. But that's not the case. I just am of the firm belief that it will all get sorted out.

If you have a proper shopping addiction should he really be indulging it? (just curious )

Well maybe it's about time you started to show some actual concern...?
And do what you can to help him in a practical manner, rather than just reassure him that it'll get sorted out. Because it won't get sorted out without someone actively fixing the situation.

Naw... He's well off. Plus it's not like I was overdoing it or nefin. And like I said, he's the one who insisted to pay.

He needs to contact VISA or whatever, he will get his money back if he does that.

Same thing happened to my Mum, its just a risk you take when using your credit card, not only online but also when you use it in shops as people clone your card.

Its not your fault, it can happen to anyone, he is just another victim of this growing crime.

But he obviously still cares about wasting money so I'd be careful about relying on his wealth too much. Besides, I think you're kind of missing the point lol.

I offered to pay for the 400 quid but he said it's not an issue of money. It's about all the 'dodgy' sites I go on to get freebies and shop and all. That's what I asked init? :p: What can I do to help him?

He just sent me a long text saying he's sorry. He's actually really stressed cause he's got exams on tuesday and he was like that was the last thing he needed atm.

Meh, its his fault. If he didn't want to run the risk of credit card fraud he shouldn't have let his credit card be used for online shopping. He shouldn't be angry at you, he should be angry at himself for telling you to go shopping on it.

Tbf, it doesn't matter if you shop online or not, people clone your cards on the highstreet.

Hence, Visa and the big credit card companies will protect you.

What's his problem?! (apart from losing £400). He can't blame it on your bad shopping habits if he's the one who offered to lend his card to you!!

Am I the only one sat here thinking he really ought to be on the phone to the credit card people? They have a system to deal with fraud you know... chances are, he may even get the money back.

OP - how much did you personally spend on the CC? I'm assuming £400 is what has gone missing through fraudalent means.

Could someone clarify what's wrong with laredoute? I ordered from there yesterday and am in a bit of a panic. (And I don;t have online banking to check all is hunky dory...) Pleeeeeeeeeeeease.

He already talked to them... He got the money back. It turned out the bank deduced it was something fraudulent. That was some min after I posted this thread.
Yup...The 400 quid was the amount they stole. Errr... I'd say I spent around 100 quid maybe.
