Cheaper travel in London?? LSBU student

Hi,
I'm moving to London In September to attend LSBU and was just wondering how I go about getting an oyster card or rail card or whatever?
Are students entitled to discounts? Do LSBU have their own cheaper travel scheme? Or do I just apply for a standard oyster card ?
I'll be 19 if that helps?
Thank you!
You can get the 18+ Student Oyster Card What gives 30% off 7 Day, Monthly and longer period Travelcards. You can get a 34% discount on off-peak pay as you go fares and off-peak daily caps on Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services if you get a 16-25 National Railcard and add the discount entitlement to your 18+ Student Oyster photocard. A £20 fee apply for the oyster,

Depending on what banks you go with to get a student account, some throw in a free 4 year railcard which offers you 1/3 off travel during non-peak hours and on weekends. (the max years is usually 3 years) its well worth having a railcard because you can benefit when travelling late, if you work or when you hang out with friends. One bank this year is offering a free national express coach card too. and then there's the good old student oyster card that you can apply for now as it opened up for applications again from 1st Sept. good luck and well done for getting into uni!
