    is the saliva test accurate enough or is it better doing the blood one. my friend had a one night stand and he is going nuts about it. I'm trying to tell him both are accurate but now i am not even sure as he is not listening.


    also what are his chances of catching something if he is circumcised, and did not ejaculate in her ? he is sexuality is heterosexual and doesn't do drugs

    The saliva test is not as accurate and, from memory, you need to wait for three months before it will detect a new HIV infection. The blood test is what's used to confirm saliva tests and is accurate after a month.

    If she has HIV (which she probably doesn't) and isn't being treated for it (which she probably would be, if she knows) then the risk of him getting it is about 1 in 1,000 per time.

    There is other stuff he could have got, of course, so a trip to a sexual health clinic is going to be a good idea at some point.
