help with understanding illness

I get the results of my bllod test on monday, and my doctor said that one of the following things could show up: Celiac dieseas, thyroids, and anemia, can anyone tell me about any of these? if they have it, what its like etc, treatment. I am sure there is probably a lot of stuff on the internet, but i dont want to look as i feel sometimes info on the internet can be exagerated.
And help would be great.
well. i no that if your anamic, that means u have low iron levels in ur blood... this may be causin some symptoms such as pale skin, tiredness and loss of hair...
this can be solved in a number of ways... the most common is by takin iron tablets.. this boosts the iron in ur blood again, and makes the symptoms go away, and u'll b feeling alot better...
im afraid i dont know about the other two lol.. but doctors always say that kind of thing when u have a blood test, as its the most common thing which will show up if something is 'wrong' . I no that anaemia is very common, so its nothing to worry about.
hope this helped abit..
and i hope ur ok

First of all I wouldn't worry too much about the 'what if's'. I had a chest x-ray and blood test when I had glandular fever, and the doctor was checking for lung disease! Have a look at official health organisation sites for these illnesses if you really suspect it's serious (these are more likely to give standard symptoms/treatment etc instead of individual case experiences), but please don't worry about it unnecessarily before you know for certain.

Cealiac disease is something to do with your body not being able to deal with wheat - if it's that then you may have to cut wheat out of your diet.

Ok thanks for that, really helpful

I just wish Monday would hurry up cant stand feeling this way anymore.
coeliac is an intolerance to gluten, so basically you would cut out wheat, barley, oats and rye from your diet if you had it. I'm coeliac. Anaemia is usually temporary - well, maybe an increase in iron in the diet but usually not very serious (don't slate me!) Thyroid, I don't know much about really.
You might be able to 'guess' what you have by what symptoms you have though.....

I wouldn't worry about what they wants to test for, wait for the results and if there's anything wrong then they'll explain about it. I recently had loads of tests for anaemia, liver profile, thyroid etc etc (they took about six tubes full for different tests! :frown:) and it just turned out to be a mild bout of glandular fever. Just wait for the results

checking for thyroid problems. they made think you have hyper or hypo thyroidism

My mum has hypothyroidism. She has to take quite alot of tablets and go for blood tests regularly, but its managable...

See is your symptoms match either. In general, hypo is usually when you're tired alot, and i think the opposite for hyper

Don't you think that you should ask your doctor about everything first?
