    Ideally you would have both. But the work experience will allow you to actually see what medicine is like and gain an understanding of the role of a Doctor.

    I would think they would look at volunteering and paid work experience as one of the same as long as you can reflect on the placement that's all they are really looking for... Good luck with your application
