How do you revise accurately for gcse science?

I am retaking GCSE Additional Science. I got a D last year, but that could it be due to me not revising accurately. Or me hating Science. Flashcards work for me, but I think I made too much that I got mixed up. Do mindmaps work? I tried to do them, but I feel that they are messy. Also, I am planning to do past papers after I have tried to memorie the information. Some of you may recommend CGP books and I have typed up brief notes from my CGP revision guide.

Watch mygcsescience videos and read the cgp books and make notes rewrite stuff. It's all about repetition then when you finished the whole unit do a pastpaper see where you went wrong go over those topic.
