What I do is I go over a revision guide and I write down notes. I go over them everyday. I don't like using flash card because they tend to be a hassle when they're everywhere so using a workbook would be best to write down all your notes. Make sure you understand the topic, like why are questionnaires used etc.. Make sure you go into depth as well because that's what examiners like to see, detailed answers.

This is all I can help you with and let me know if you need any help; I also study sociology!

I went back over each topic and wrote down the key sociologists with their theories and then key ideas and tried to condense everything down to an a4 sheet of notes. I also tried to write an essay for all the topics I was weaker on, and make essay plans for as many long essays as possible. A week before the exam I wrote one about New Right perspectives on education and it came up in the exam so I was so happy because I basically recalled everything from memory!
In the exam I always deconstruct and highlight the question to make sure I know exactly what I need to write about. I then make a tiny mind map of key words that I could then go on to talk about e.g. domestic division of labour in the family I would write down parsons, and from that I would know to talk about instrumental and expressive roles, bott's joint and segregated conjugal rules, with criticisms about these two from wilmott and young's symmetrical family, and then criticise them with Oakley's rise of the housewife and stats on men in the home (25% help with childcare for example) backed up with ward and Hetherington's study that concluded roles are sex typed e.g. men do diy, women doing washing up. all of that would stem from "parsons" in my tiny mind map because of the condensed revision notes I made before hand.
I know this won't work for everyone, but I got full marks on the education paper and a b in the family paper, so it did pretty well for me!

Hi guys, im here on the behalf of my sister who is self teaching herself AS/A2 sociology. I did sociology myself and gained an A*, so i am trying my best to support her. But, i was wondering if anyone has written an essay for the 52 marker (pre release) unit 1 (topics in socialisation) AQA exam. In return i would be happy to help anyone with any revision tips or essay structuring help.Thank you in advance.

Hi, I used these booklets that my teacher made. But most of my work came from the Haralambos and Collins book. At first I found it hard, and so did my sister, but I explained to her what to do. The main thing is, give two reasons, and for each reason mention theorists, sociologists, studies, statistics, key social trends. Try and mention most off that, not all if you can't. The more you write, the better. Make sure it's relevant to the reason you wrote.

I still have some of my past paper questions from when I did it, my sister uses them. The teacher gave me 14/17 (only because he wanted me to work harder and not feel relaxed by giving 17/17 lol) I got 99 in that exam. If it helps, I can take pictures of some of the essays and email/what's app it to you

But, for G671 do you have a model answer for the pre release? My sister is doing that exam also and hasn't written one :/
