    I see this is posted in Mental Health.

    Would you mind posting some more information to give us a bit of context and hopefully the thread will generate more replies?

    I agree with the above.

    And something that helps is small goals. For example, you have an essay which have 5 sections. You do each section at a time. You may have to cut this down even further.

    I find that setting too big a goal doesn't help me in the slightest. I just look at it and think "uh oh!"

    Agreed!

    If you're struggling to get started then just tell yourself that you only need to do the task for 2 minutes.

    Once the 2 minute timer goes off you'll find it easier to just keep going because the hardest part is mustering the motivational to begin.
