University Mental Health Day 2016 will take place on Thursday 3rd March and we would like to take this opportunity to promote the Student Support and Wellbeing services here at UCLan.
The university offers various services to support students such as:
Counselling- a free, confidential service for all registered UCLan students staffed by a team of professionally trained and experienced therapists.
Disability Services- our Equality and Diversity policy outlines our commitments to providing access to all individuals here at UCLan.
Financial Support- we offer extra support for students under certain circumstances in the form of loans or grants.
Peer Support- the Peer Support Team here at UCLan offers support from students to students from before they arrive on campus until they graduate , with Peer Mentoring and Flying Start being the two programmes available.
Study Skills Support- WISER gives academic support to all students enrolled at UCLan, offering weekly workshops to help improve independent learning skills.
“The Disability Service was open and friendly. The whole process (of arranging support) would have been very confusing if not for the helpfulness of the staff. I have a lot to thank them for as they were always brilliant to me.”
