I'm trying to find a way to record both visual and audio of something that is on my laptop screen. I can't afford to buy software and am not incredibly tech-savvie but I definitely want something free that I can record and save to my hard drive as opposed to storing online etc.
I've downloaded and tested 'Bandicam' which is good but I've just discovered that the free version only allows up to 10 minutes of recording! The recording I want to make is over 60 minutes.
If anyone has any advice for me then that would be great. Thanks in advance.

if it's something you're looking at in a browser window... I've used a browser add-on called video-download helper in the past.

You could just torrent some software if you wanna be a rebellion! Camtasia is pretty good, its super simple to use or you could use sony vegas which is not easy to learn at all but has loads of features!

Hi, appreciate the reply. Like I said I'm not really that good at techie stuff. Is the Camtasia suitable for my needs and free or do I have to be an outlaw and download it via torrent? Lol 😎

    Hi,
    1) if you have windows 10 then you can get a free screen recorder however its only for games so I'm not sure if that interests you but yeah if you want me to show you how to get that ask me

    2) If you have a NVIDIA GEFORCE or some sought of nvidia graphics card then you can get a screen recorder for free and a very good one too which you can record your desktop on, if you do have NVIDIA check out this website
    http://www.geforce.co.uk/

Again its for gaming but you can record your desktop on it too so thats great

    3) Camtasia Studio 8 you will have to find an illegal way lol to download it but it is possible, I followed a tutorial on youtube and it was perfectly safe and you get a free video editor and screen recorder as its all a part of camtasia studio 8

    4) If you need a a free screen recorder thats not exactly the best quality but does the job and one that is safe then use this

    http://icecreamapps.com/Screen-Recorder/

I've also heard of OBS free screen recording so check that out too i'm sure thats 100% free too

I've also heard of ths idk if its free though but they may have a free version
    http://www.litecam.net/en/product/litecam-hd/

Lastly I read that your recording would be around 60 minutes long and that is going to make a VERY large file so I suggest you use handbreak to compress your videos down so they don't take up 60gb (literally lol) , search on youtube for handbrake tutorials to compress your videos dw its really simple

    https://handbrake.fr/

    Hope this helps

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It's appreciated but things are getting more complicated than I first thought. I want a very simple option so might look into the ice cream thing. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply so fully. 😎
