    practice now and in the summer, you've got ages, buy Nosh for students (cookbook) and try some recipes, you'll start to get the hang of it quite fast

    OK, big secret time: cooking is easy. Seriously, it's ridiculous. "Stick stuff in pan, cook until it looks/tastes right" will do you for basically anything you ever want to do. Just go for it.

    I wish it was that easy.. Anyway, looks like I am gonna miss mum everytime I look at food

    It really is that easy. If you're concerned, start with beef / vegetables, since it's damn near impossible to cook anything actually inedible with them.

    There are so many Youtube videos for recipes - you don't need to be dependent on someone else, all you need are ingredients and patience With time, you'll be a great cook. Not going to lie it gets to my head when my flatmates and friends compliment my cooking but I've been cooking since I was 10 so

    Check out "Cooking4Students" on Youtube he's got good recipes.
