    Yes.

And lol you critiqued Georgia for not being a therapist but you're diagnosing him with OCD? On what grounds, obsession doesn't automatically = OCD.
'Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disorder of the brain and behavior. OCD causes severe anxiety in those affected. OCD involves both obsessions and compulsions that take a lot of time and get in the way of important activities the person values'

He has been thinking about her everyday for the past 2 years.
It get in the way of important activities the person values - i.e uni work
    etc.

Is that is not ocd then I dont know what is.

If he went to the doctors and told them all this he would be diagnosed with ocd.

You can't diagnose someone from a Google definition search, it is a lot more complicated than that.

    It is clearly ocd.

Also you the one thats says he ignores your advice. How do you know he ignores your advice even if you have been trying to help him for the past 2 years? Its a lot more complicated than that,

Forcing yourself to forget something is suppressing.

Something the so called experts say you shouldn't do
But surely suppressing something negative is an effective strategy to move on IF you start to focus on things which are better for your well-being. That's how alot of people move on from broken relationships for example.

No it is not "clearly" OCD, neither of us are even remotely qualified to diagnose this man.

And that is a fallacy of a comparison.

It is clear from the evidence I have seen that it is very likely to be ocd.

What do you think doctors do? They listen to what their patients tell them and decide whether they think someone has a mental illness or not. A doctors opinion is not any more valuable than someone with intelligence above average when it comes to mental health. Thats why the mental health services in this country are terrible.

It is not a fallacy comarison. You said that he continue to ignores your advice without any evidence to suggest he did. Just because someone is still mentally ill it doesn't mean he ignored your advice.

Are you seriously saying you're as qualified as a doctor? I don't think a standard doctor even is qualified enough in mental health, no in this country. Only those who actually specialise in mental health.

Yes, it was a fallacy, and the evidence is in every post he has every made.

Please stop playing doctor, you're helping no one.

Yes. Maybe even better than most.

Evidence is in every post? can you point out one bit of evidence please that proves he has ignored your advice?

    You're helping no one.

Get your head out of your fat ass.

' duh how dare you ignore my advice'.

bet you would say to someone with 2 broken legs who is in agony 'duh just do watch a movie take you mind of it' and when they come back and go sophie I am still in pain, you will say 'omg stop ignoring my advice'.

Why don't you stop trying to 'help' this guy out and let someone who knows what they are talking about take over please?
This response was both hilarious and ridiculous.

@greatguy251 You only joined today, you have no idea about what's going on. what I'm suggesting is that he channels his negative thoughts into something more constructive. If he keeps thinking about it instead of trying to forget it, he'll stay the miserable wreck that he currently is.

Your posts are really unhelpful and you seem to be directing them solely at this thread. You can't diagnose him with OCD, you're not a mental health specialist.

In addition, you say that we have no idea about whether or not he's taken our advice. Yes we do. If you'd bothered to look at previous threads instead of just attacking us you'd notice that he's actually told us that he didn't follow our advice.

He tells us that he's not going to ignore her and that he's going to keep talking to her, and then they fight and he tells TSR he is heartbroken and crying. We told him to make a doctor's appointment and he told us 'I can't go through with it'. He's told us he ignores our advice, so actually bother to research the OP's history before making your comments.

Tl;dr. You've been on TSR a few hours and you're already pissing everyone off. You're not 'more qualified than a doctor'. Grow up, you're pathetic.

You didn't make any actual points, you just threw out straw mans and insults. Why would I waste my time with that?

Now once again, stop playing doctor. You're not a doctor nor a mental health specialist and you have no idea what you're talking about.

I have more clue about mental health than you do love.

    Your advice /=/ a cure.

How cocky do you have to be to think that?

I have actually been on tsr for a while and its you that need to do some grown up- you sound like a butthurt kid.
