So this guy I know from one class asked me to his to watch a film, I wasn't sure if it was meant as a date but I thought I'd go anyway, because turning down immediately just seems harsh and sketchy. Turns out he did mean it like a date but I realised that I'm not into him like that.

I see him fairly regularly because of that one module and I like him as a friend but I just don't want to date or to string him along. If he asks again what should I say?

Well you need to talk to him about it, before waiting for him to ask to watch a movie again. Tell him how you feel about him, that you enjoy your time with him but you don't want to be more than friends.

It's too awkward bringing it up when he asks you to watch a movie with him.

Lol bad idea, don't tell him he's a nice guy either, or that you're 'just friends'. Something like this, 'I'm not interested in you that way but I respect you enough to tell you directly'

Don't treat him like a child, it'll annoy him and ruin your friendship.
