Do top universties (like UCL, Cambridge etc. )care a lot about extra curriculars?
Also, does volunteering count as an EC?
What EC's would look good in a personal statement for medicine?

I do quite a lot of volunteering but nothing much on other EC's like some people who do debating or captain of a sports team. A
Although I do go to lots of sports clubs like karate, badminton etc. but nothing special like playing in tournaments etc.

Volunteering looks good on a medicine application. Especially in a health-care setting.

I think playing a lot of sports should be fine for extracurricular stuff. Can show teamwork etc, and also good to relax and destress.
