I went to interview last year (I think it was in November) for Animal Behaviour. What course are you applying for? I was given a offer and I'm going there in September.

I applied in October so I applied really early before anyone else got their applications in. The interview isn't awful, obviously its scary beforehand but they talk to you about the usual things (why you want to study behaviour, why you want to go to harper adams etc) they ask about clubs and societies if you want to join them, the worst bit is they test your knowledge on the subject. so if you wrote down on your personal statement about an area of animal care that interests you, they will question you on it to make sure you know. I was questioned on the digestive system, which wasn't so bad. Just remain calm and it will be fine. It's like a informal chat. Good Luck!

Oh right ok! And we're you offered a place pretty much straight away? Ok, thanks for the advice! I didn't really write about anything that wasn't true so hopefully if they question me on anything I wrote in my PS I will have an answer!! I think if I just do as much reading up as I can on the uni, clubs, animal behaviour industry etc i will be more relaxed! The reason I want to do this course is so I can get the CCAB accreditation! Are you going down the clinical or non clinical route? Thanks again!!

I'm exactly the same I want to go clinical to become a Behaviourist. I had to wait around 2 weeks after my interview for my offer which was the longest two weeks of my life! I get the feeling that Animal Behaviour is a small course, as there was only 3 people applying for behaviour out of my interview group. If you get an offer there's a high possibility we will be in class together!

I had an interview for the animal behaviour and welfare course as well. The person interviewing me was really friendly and just asked about myself and my interests. But the question at the end was based on zoo animals behaviour because I had shown an interest in that in my personal statement and I wasn't sure of my answer because I hadn't looked into what they were asking me and stumbled quite a bit but she was really friendly and I still got an offer. If you seem passionate about your course then I think they will still give you an offer if harper seems the right place for you! I'm also wanting to go into clinical behaviour too to get the accreditation! Good luck in your interview!

That's great, thanks Sophie! I am hoping that because I have done my reading about the CCAB accreditation they will think I'm serious enough about the course, but we will have to wait and see! Are you local to the area or will you be moving?

Haha fair enough! I do that drive to hartpury 3 days a week which isn't too bad, I suppose it depends when lectures will be etc! I live near Evesham, about 1.5 hr drive so definitely not commutable 😂 If I get a place I will be looking at living on campus or house sharing I'm 27 tho so abit concerned I might be a bit of an oldie on campus 👵🏼

Definitely don't worry about that Abby - we have a good range of ages here and 27 is still young! Everyone here knows each other you should end up with a tight-knit course group.Good luck for the interview!
