    What's the logical step to do for part e)? (think about inside the brackets).

    For f), think carefully about the definitions of X and how you're given what S1 is, and think about what values S2 can/can't take for that statement to be true, and use the probability from there.

    Okay. It depends on what the mean is, what the standard deviation is and stuff like that as well as what the point actually is. Because if you take one of those things, like the mean, the mean is going to increase if you add a number greater than the mean (think of 1,3,5 - if you add 2, then the mean decreases to 11/4. If you add 4, then the mean increases to 13/4. So you really need to know a lot more about the data, and work it out like that.

    but I've forgotten how to find x?


    I worked it out as the class width + multiplied it by the frequency but it was obviously wrong.

    X is the midpoint so for the first one-
    10 + 12/ 2 = 11
