1. I know the answer to this question is " - y / 3x
However I don't have a clue as to how it gets to that answer. Could I get a hand?

Do you remember your indices rule:

So how could you simplify
3. You have 9 on top, 27 on bottom, so that cancels to 1/3.
You have x on top, x^2 on bottom which cancels to 1/x
