That would be 80% so an A (depending on grade boundaries obviously). Well done!

    I've been getting around 30-40
Same, but just think, it's your first paper. At least you'll know what to expect now.

In the new practice depth paper (the one on the google drive link) question 5c where it asks you to identify the molecular formula of alkane X, I identified that the alkane has 7 carbon atoms in it so assumed its formula was C7H16 due to this being the general formula of alkanes. Yet the answer was C7H14, why is this?
We did that paper as a mock and I think my teacher said it is a mistake on the markscheme. By the way, where are these papers?

Do you think it's because of a lack of knowledge or a lack of understanding?

Probably a bit of both, in some questions I know what I need to do but I do it wrong! and in other questions I'm completely stumped"

They might be asking for a cycloalkane. If that was the case then it would have been C7H14.
Yes thats true! I was just confused as the question didn't mention cycloalkanes but thats probably the case

It's actually a mistake in the mark scheme - C7H16 is correct.

This is why the grade boundaries for this test have to be low, cause this is one of the only practise papers we can have for the exam and even the markers are getting confused on how to mark it.

Is there anywhere with concise summarising notes? My own aren't the best for quick revision, don't know any sites that facilitate our spec. Anyone?

Hey guys, just did a massive update to the OP. I think some people are missing some helpful links, resources and tips in the past few pages of the thread so I tried to compile them to make it easier and to make some resources more visible. Let me know if you guys want to add some to the OP or remove your post if you didn't want it in the OP.

I've tagged and added the username of the amazing posters (?) who added them to the thread so you'll know who to thank.

Users have added a lot of links to some such as compilation of past papers and access to that elusive second set of papers. Don't forget to send them thanks or however you guys thank people here in TSR (I think it was give them rep or something)

Cheers and good luck with your revision.

    All the moles ones using
    masses n=m/Mr
    solutions n=cv
    gases n=V/24(000),
PV=nRT and the the other adaptation of that formula in book
    The stuff for avogadros
The dilution stuff (I can't remember for the life of me)
    Kc constant (products stuff)/(reactant stuff)
I can't think of anything else right now

If you get a U, probably not. Some teachers will allow those getting E's to pass through on a case by case basis. Revising is a better use of your time that worrying about your grades though
