What books are most interesting to you? You'll get the most out of a book if you actually want to read it and if it's at the right level for you to learn from it. Anyone who suggests a book won't know what you understand - it could be too easy, or too advanced, or even one where you already know the material.

You need to explain in your PS what you gained from a book and why it helped your application; you don't just write that you read it. So if it's a book you feel more passionate about then you'll be able to write better and more passionately.

To add to what Juno said, it may be an idea to look at university course reading lists to get an idea of books that you could read, or you could read articles and watch online lectures

This is kinda dependent on where you want to go with accounts.. Management accounting, financial accounting... Or maybe something completely different! Need feedback from OP to get a better idea of where your understanding currently is and where you want to go with it.

On top of the other suggestions have a look at https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/...and-management

Listen to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01hxpyg and similar programmes like the bottom line

Keep a record of what you watch/read/listen to and your thoughts about it. It'll make it easier to bring together your thoughts for your PS and it will help you to make links between different approaches to the same topics.
