I'm a fairly typical uni applicant from a lower middle class background and a comprehensive school in the North East. I genuinely enjoy reading and my subject (history), but I also like to do things like watching the football and getting ****ered. I'm skint almost all the time as well. Would I be likely to enjoy Exeter? And do they have a decent football team? All the sports photos on their website were of golf and cricket and that

Exeter is like any University, there are the posh kids but they tend to only ever associate with the other posh kids. Outside of that group nobody gives a flying **** where you're from or how much money you have, and like every other University there's thousands upon thousands of students who will be out getting pissed multiple times each week and doing all the 'typical student things'.

As for football, the first team is one of the best dozen or so in the country and there's something like four more teams that play in BUCS and a total of 10 teams that at least compete in various local and regional leagues.

With regard to being skint: Exeter offer pretty generous bursaries for people from low-income backgrounds. You said lower-middle class so not sure if you'd be eligible but look into it
