I'm studying unit 1 biology too! My mock exam is next week and I must revise! You should get revision books, they really help.

    Vaccination and immunization
This is what we did at school, but I study WJEC not aqa.
So when we vaccinated for, say, small pox, you are injected with the virus. Not alive, obviously, or you'll be killed! You are injected with the dead small pox virus.
Your body will instantly try and recognize the virus, to kill it, and when it can't, it quickly makes the chemicals your body needs to destroy it. So once it has developed the 'antidote', the dead small px virus is disposed of and never to be seen again.
Why? You are now immune to small pox virus because when or if your body will come across the virus again, it has the 'antidote' all ready to kill it, before the virus does any serious harm.
    Hope this helps
