I revise too slowly

I started revising today (for my maths re-take exam) at around 5pm. I had planned to do 4 chapters in 3 hours. Since, I have made 2 pages of notes and I am just starting the third chapter. I'm really pissed off. I don't know why it's taking me so long. I've only re-filled my glass twice, I'm keeping music on quietly, but the only thing bothering me is that I keep listening outside of my room to what's going on at home because people keep going in and out.

I have 2 more chapters to do and I think it'll take me till 10 seeing as I've taken this break. I have 21 chapters to cover in total! And I wanted to have finished making notes by Thursday, and I thought this would give me loads of time but it's taking too long and I'm started to get annoyed.

Any advice?

takes me ages to revise, prolly cause only about 5% goes in each time.

Try and eat fresh fruit and drink water before you do revision. This will improve your concentration.

Have specific revision aims and stick to them- but ensure they are acheivable. If it takes you an hour to learn half a page then it takes you an hour to learn half a page.

Maybe you could ask the people in your house to give you some peace and quiet for a number of hours?

Bah I used to revise till 4am in the morning but it was because I had total silence after 12am! :O

Many people revise best early in the morning or late at night.

Different people take different amounts of time to revise. That's just the way it is- nothing you can do about it except plan your revision around it, eg now that you know roughly how long each chapter takes you, you can work out how many to do in a day.

depends on the way you revise. Sometimes if you go through it slowly, you will get the same amount of info that someone who went through it fast and repeated got through. It depends on the technique.
