A lot more premium and therefore costly, try Braun or Wahl? I bought my brother a Phillips and have a Phillips multi -attachment shaver myself. Try contacting them for a replacement? It sounds like the blades could be blunt, is it a self sharpening one?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o07_s00 beard trimmer but doesn't have the attachments I'm afraid.

Never used a nose trimmer but I've never heard of a good one either. Buy a good beard trimmer and buy a good nose trimmer separately.

The trimmer (the thing that makes the lines) never seem any good on any of what I had.

    Interesting. I'm sure you're aware of the different settings e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc... When I trim my sideburns I use a 1. I've never had any problems.
