Sensitivity of micrometer and vernier calliper.

Isn't the precision of a micrometer the same as a vernier calliper? THey both can measure upto 0.01mm??

Someone confirm on this.

Our verniers can only measure to 0.1mm

teachercol, thanks. I just got confused between cm and mm. So a micrometer can measure upto 0.01mm and a vernier calliper can measure upto 0.1mm.

There are also micrometers with vernier scales which give an order of magnitude of precision, namely to 0.001mm or 1um or 1 micron.
